Dr. Chia-Ding (JD) Shih is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) and qualified by American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). He is a member of American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and serves on the Public Health and Podiatric Preventive Medicine Committee as special expert. He is also the social media chair and member of the Podiatric Health section of the American Public Health Association (APHA). He received his B.S. in Microbiology and Nutritional Science from UC Davis in 2006. He then obtained his Master of Arts (MA) in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine in 2009. He subsequently graduated from California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in 2014 with an honor before he completed a three-year surgical residency at the West Los Angeles VA/UCLA Olive View Medical Center. He subsequently was selected to be the 2017-18 Podiatric Public Health fellow of the APMA and obtained his Master of Public Health (MPH) at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. He then went on to complete his second fellowship in limb preservation at Keck School of Medicine of USC. Currently he holds a faculty position as an assistant professor at California School Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in addition to his clinical duty at the Bay Area Foot Care. His goals are to ensure his patients stay mobile as he believes that mobility is the key to a good quality of life. When he finds time outside of his clinical, research and teaching duties he enjoys spending time with his family and cheering for the Bay Area sport teams.
