Wound Care :

Our office specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, management and prevention of the non-healing wounds of the lower extremity. These wounds include diabetic ulcerations, pressure ulcerations, venous ulcerations and arterial/ischemic ulcerations of the lower extremity.

We use the latest advances in wound care to treat our patients. The treatment of a slow or non-healing ulceration/wound starts with making the correct diagnosis as to the etiology of the ulceration. Without understanding the cause of the ulcer, one can't treat the ulcer correctly. The doctors use a systematic approach to a wound care which includes the use of appropriate diagnostic tests.

During the initial wound evaluation visit the patient will leave the clinic with a complete and thorough understanding of his/her underlying disease process that has caused the wound to remain open. Most of the time the treatment protocol is a non-surgical one, however, it's important to keep in mind that sometimes a minor surgical procedure is needed in order to prevent an amputation of the foot or leg.

Our doctors perform inpatient surgical procedures at local hospitals such as California Pacific Medical Center and Eden Medical Center. Both of these hospitals have state of the art facilities and a wonderful caring team of nurses and physicians.

The goal of treating the patient with an ulcer/wound of the lower extremity is to achieve complete healing as quickly as possible, preventing an amputation and at the same time allowing the patient to lead an active and pain free lifestyle.
